Event Information

Description

Want to go on more biking trips? Me too! Unfortunately there aren't too many going out these days, and big part of that is because I am the only person leading them, something I would very much like to change. So come join me this weekend on a trip out to Quarry Park as I show you what it takes to lead your first beginner MTB trip.

This will basically be a standard day trip, we'll bike out to Quarry Park and ride for a couple hours then head back. What makes it different is that I'll be showing you the ropes on how to lead trips so you'll feel comfortable doing it on your own. Quarry park is a favorite destination for beginner trips due to its proximity to UW-Madison, making it perfect for quick rides after class.

No experience is necessary for this trip, just a willingness to learn how to bike and how to lead trips. You should bring water and something to carry your water in, as well as a snack or two to keep up your energy on the trail. Hoofers will provide the bikes and the helmets, however I recommend a pair of light gloves if you have them.

Logistics:

Meet at boathouse where bikes are stored (right next to Mendota Lounge where we have the weekly meetings) at 10:00AM

Bikes out to Quarry Park

Wrap up and ride back by 2:00PM

Hope to see you out there! And as always, if you are interested in attending and the trip is full or you have any questions whatsoever, you are more than welcome to send me an email at chaseflackey@gmail.com.

PS: Don't forget to sign up on the waitlist if the trip is full!
