Water Safety Board Meeting

NOTE CHANGE OF DATE FROM ORIGINAL ANNOUNCEMENT! This meeting is now scheduled for March 14---not February 14 due to conflicts with other planned HOC events that came up]

The Water Safety Board will meet Tuesday, March 14, from 7:30 to 8:30 (after the conclusion of the regular HOC meeting). 

The main agenda items are:

• Review and vote on proposed changes to the Water Safety Code. I will send out a message summarizing all proposed changes at least a week before the meeting. 
• Discuss and develop training plans for the year.
• Discuss safety and rescue gear needs---Replacements? Upgrades? New acquisitions?

I welcome suggestions for additional agenda items (please send me an email).

All HOC members are welcome to attend WS Board meetings and contribute to the discussion. Only Water Safety Board members are eligible to vote on matters before the Board, such as changes to the WS Code and leader promotions. Board members unable to attend this meeting may submit votes to me by email prior to the scheduled meeting.

Paddling season isn't far away---maybe even closer this year given this weird January weather. I also encourage all paddling leaders to be thinking about and considering trips you can lead this year----from evening trips to Prairie du Sac to extended trips to places like the West or Southeast.
