Wisconsin Basecamp Backpacking July 28-Aug 1

We get to know each other on our drive up to the Porcupine Mountains on the shore of Lake Superior in the Michigan UP. We will spend 3 days backpacking as a group near the Lake of the Clouds, on hilly wilderness trails through towering virgin forests. We will cover the basics of backpacking and camping, while learning about campus life around campfires next to mountain lakes. You will challenge yourself, gain trust and support from others, and learn new skills that will transfer to your campus life. Backpacking trips start and end at Outdoor UW in the Memorial Union. Trips leave at 9am the first day and end at 5pm the last day. (Note: SOAR normally ends at 12pm, so please do not schedule SOAR to end on the first day of your Basecamp trip!) Group camping equipment and food are provided.
