Howdy,
Join us for an amazing backpacking trip on the Superior Hiking trail, north of Duluth, Mn. We will be leaving the Union at 830AM on Friday (10/11), driving 5.5 hours to Duluth, Mn where we will grab groceries, site see, and start our journey along the SHT. We will be hiking around 11 miles over the course of 3 days. We will then leave Duluth and head back to the Union on Sunday (10/13).
The Pre-trip Meeting will be in Mendota Lounge at 745pm on 10/09/2024.

SHT october version
10/11/24
800am - leave
230pm - lunch in Duluth, grocery shop, errands
400pm - Fox Farm road dropoff point (coordinate with Daniel’s parents for car) (3.19 miles)
500pm - Arrive at Fox Farm Beaver Pound campsite, set up camp and stop for night
if we arrive late, there is a 1.14 mile alternate route
Evacuation point - fox farm road
10/12/24
700am to 830am - wake up and pack up
830am - 6.92 mile hike
300pm - Big Bend Campsite
Evacuation point - Rossini road
10/13/24
700am to 830am - wake up and pack up
8:30 am- 2.69 mi hike
10 am Coordinate car dropoff and potentially go to Pequaywan inn
4:30 pm Back home clean up

- Driving or Travel Details
- We will be using a Fleet Minivan. We will leave from Memorial Union at 830 AM on 10/11. Drive 5.5 hours to Duluth, MN where we will be dropped off at the Fox Farm road SHT trailhead. The van will be parked in a safe lot. The the minivan will be picked up on 10/13 and group will drive back to Madison.

- This is a LIT backpacking trip. The purpose is to get more leaders in the club and lead a weeklong backpacking trip.
