Step A: Sign up for this lesson if you are available at this time.
Step B: Email me within an hour which lessons (top 3 ranked picks from below menu) you would prefer at this time.
Step C: Wait for my reply to learn what lesson will run at this time! I will review all students choices and majority will rule which lesson will run, pending equipment availability and other safety/logistical considerations (No Badger Sloops or Scows anymore Mondays&Tuesdays now that Harvey closed then).
Step D: Once you've heard back from me, within 6 hours decide whether you will still join the chosen lesson or drop to open up space for other interested students.
Lesson Menu:
On the Water: Windsurfing, Zest or Tech including Intro to Dinghy or Windsurfing
On Land Only: Intro to Badger Sloop or Keelboat, AMA Offshore Passagemaking
Event Information: This three hour lesson will review the topics of operating the elected craft. Students should expect to spend time on the water during this lesson and dress accordingly. Most students take this course once or twice before moving on to the Practical.
Location: This lesson will meet under the yellow canopy next to the lake lab. If you are unable to find your instructor, or if there is inclement weather, please check in with the Outdoor UW Office.
Prerequisites: As required for the elected craft.
Students who take this lesson will be working toward earning their rating. It may take several lessons to achieve proficiency in the skills that constitute the rating. Ratings are issued at the discretion of the Instructor.
