Pete's Fest & Battle Boats

Skippers should show up at 1:00 p.m. to get the boats ready.

We will particpate in the "BATTLE BOATS" event.

We will go sailing at 2 pm; <we've reserved a bunch of keelboats>

and, then we will have a potluck in the canopy at 5 p.m. 
<in the event of inclement weather, we will hold the potluck in the instructor lounge>

Join us in celebrating Pete Mooney's 3rd 26th birthday! Pete joined the Hoofer outing club in 1969 and the sailing club in 1975. Over the decades, he has volunteered thousands of hours helping our clubs flourish and is a true Hoofer treasure!

WE WILL PARTICIPATE IN BATTLE BOATS:

Join us for the annual Battle Boats! This will be a fun race on 3 cruising keelboats and 3 J24s. Three teams will race to different GPS coordinates (or bouys) on the lake that will be randomly called out by the Admiral to gain points and win FREE ICE CREAM (courtesy of the losing team). No racing or keelboat experience is necessary.

"BATTLE BOATS"

        Battle boats, bumping bows before breaching badly,
        boast bloody booms between broken battons:
        billows bulging,
        ballasts backfiring,
        bellowing blows backwinding bustling blankets,
        buoyant buoys buckled beneath -
        Better bear-off before blunder blazes!

 

A POTLUCK DINNER AT  5  PM:

Plan is to have an electric double burner with larger pots to do a Soupatuli (adding cans of various types of soups) a decades ago Hoofer tradition at times…

and..Soup To Bring: 

..Please bring a can or two of hearty soup (for yourself and to add for others) and if possible also bring some crackers, and or cheeses, shredded cheese etc. or whatever you’d like to bring to contribute is most welcome and requested for potluck sharing!
