Event Information

Description

Event Information: This four hour lesson will introduce you to the basics of windsurfing and the equipment you will use during your windsurfing lessons. We will be meeting at the yellow Hoofer canopy at the lakefront. (You can see if the picnic table closest to the  windsurfing equipment is available and claim it for our Windsurfing Intro, the first-day, class.)

For Windsurfing Intro (first-day) we start with intros under the canopy, briefly cover basic concepts, look at equipment,  pull out the equipment we will be using, begin rigging, practice on the simulator and, if weather is good, check out our equipment, grab our lifejackets, drink some more water, and head out on the water.

Watching the 10 minutes of videos linked below will introduce you to (and reinforce) useful techniques  (Read parts of the manual only if ambitious).

Please bring good weather. Drink lots of liquids in hot weather. Bring a windbreaker or sweatshirt when temps are below 70F/21C for on land use to keep warm.

I'm looking forward to our lesson.
