Hello Mountaineers,
On behalf of HMC, we are stoked to invite you to Welcome Weekend at Devil's Lake! If you're looking to join us for the weekend camping aspect of this trip, please head over to the RecHub event titled "HMC Welcome Weekend - Camping Signup." If you'd rather join us strictly for the climbing and cookout on Saturday, September 21st, stay tuned!
The itinerary for the day trip is as follows:
We will be meeting at Memorial Union Circle at 7:30 AM, pack up the cars, and leave no later than 7:45 AM to make our way over to Devil's Lake. There, we will meet the rest of the crew at Misery Rocks, have a parking lot talk, and head on up to the crag. After a full and glorious day of climbing, the entire group will head over to the South Shore for a cookout -- think (beyond or meat) burgers, brats, chips, fruit, and all that jazz.
By signing up for this event:
- Transportation via UW Fleet (or other personal cars, if you're on the waiting list) to and from Devil's Lake
- Dinner for Saturday
Additional important things to note:

There are only 12 spots for the day trip portion of this trip, however, more personal cars or fleet will be added as needed. If you didn't land a spot on the initial list, please add yourself to the waiting list and wait for an email from an HMC Leader.
- There will be vegan and vegetarian options available for the meal - stay tuned for a dietary restrictions inquiry to be sent out once the event is full.
What to bring:

You will be expected to bring personal climbing gear for yourself - this includes shoes, chalk, harness, and helemt. If you dont have some of these, NO WORRIES! Please reach out to our wonderful Gear Managers (gearmanager@hoofermountaineering.org) and they will get you set up with all the items that you may need

Bring plenty of water, as it might get hot!
