Wazee Lake Sea Kayak Paddle

WAZEE LAKE! 

Putting together a trip to one of Wisconsin's hidden gems, Wazee Lake (Located just outside of Black River Falls in Western Wisconsin). The sight of a former mine, Wazee lake is the deepest lake in Wisconsin and offers crystal clear waters, a beautiful beach, and some outstanding paddling! If you like all of these things, please join us for this trip. 

The plan is to paddle around the lake, staying close to shore, followed by some swimming/lounging time at the beach. Here is the rough itinerary for the trip. Transportation will be provided via fleet vehicle, trip cost covers the vehicle expense. 

8am – meet at union, load boats and gear

8:30am – depart for Wazee Lake

10:30am – arrive at Wazee lake, unload, “lake talk”

11:00am – 3pm – paddle, beach, explore

3pm – Load boats

3:30pm – depart Wazee lake

5:30pm – arrive at union and unload

WHAT TO BRING: 

• You must wear shoes that have a sole and will not fall off in the water. 
• Wear clothing that can get wet.  
• Bring a glasses strap if you wear glasses 
• Bring a full change of clothing, including dry shoes, and a towel.
• A water bottle is required for this trip
• Pack your own lunch/snacks, food will not be provided

WHERE TO MEET: 

Please meet at the outer entrance to the Outdoor UW boathouse in the lower level of Memorial Union. It's a large garage door facing the lake, where the canoes and kayaks are kept. Please be onsite and ready to help load gear by 8am.
