Event Information

Description

Join us in warm, sunny Cozumel for an 8-dive trip this Spring break!

Transportation

Arrive in Cozumel on 3/23 at midday. Depart on 3/31 at midday.

Transportation is not included in the cost that you will pay to Hoofers. You will be required to coordinate transportation (flights) on your own, but we are more than happy to help find flights. The days posted are the days covered by the club. If you would like to stay longer you will be responsible for your housing and food. Please ensure you have a working passport and any other paperwork for international students (passports need to be renewed 90 days before they expire).

Diving

Hoofers has planned 6 dives for the trip through a local dive shop in Cozumel. Each dive will be suitable for open-water divers. The cost of dives is $400. Gear rentals are $100 for everything for the entire trip through the dive shop. If you would rather fly with your gear, or rent gear from Hoofers and bring it, that is another option but the cost of bringing gear is up to you. You will be required to show proof of diving certification before leaving on the trip. For those finishing their certification on this trip please contact the scuba@hoofers.org to make arrangements

Housing

Housing will be provided through Hoofers at an Airbnb in Cozumel. Rooms will be shared with other participants. The cost of housing is $250 per person for 7 nights. Hoofer Scuba is not responsible for any incidental expenses that could occur.

Food

Food is included in the cost you will pay to Hoofers. We have allocated $100 for food for the whole week. We would like to cook the majority of the meals when possible. Any food allergies will be easily accommodated this way. Additional food is at the expense of the participants

Cancellation Policy & Rules

$850 is required upon sign-up and 350 is non-refundable. The remaining 500 is non-refundable. There will be an informational trip planning meeting on March 15th at 4 PM in Mendota Lodge for those who sign up before then to introduce trip participants and go over the required documents needed, the trip plan, expectations, and packing suggestions. If you cannot make this meeting, please let us know so we can schedule a separate time to meet. If you are unable to make the trip closer to the deadline due to extreme circumstances, please contact us and we will see what we can do surrounding costs.

The PADI medical form and emergency contact form will need to be filled out and turned in before the trip.

The Hoofer Scuba Club trip leaders reserve the right to eject any trip member at the participant's expense if the member does not follow University policy, does not follow federal laws, acts in an unsafe manner, does not follow dive safety protocols or causes unusual and undue problems for the trip leaders or other participants. Each participant is responsible for any incidental costs that may occur on the trip.
