Description

Overview

The PADI Enriched Air Diver course is PADI’s most popular specialty scuba course. Why? Because scuba diving with enriched air nitrox gives you more no decompression time, especially on repetitive scuba dives. If staying down longer and getting back in the water sooner sounds appealing, then don’t hesitate to become an enriched air diver.  And no dives are required, so it's a great course to take during the Wisconsin winter while daydreaming about future tropical dive vacations (or our upcoming spring break trip!).

This course consists of an eLearning requirement and an in-person classroom requirement. Upon signing up, you will recieve the code for the eLearning to complete on your own pace before the classroom portion on 2/12. In the classroom, we will go over everything we have learned from the eLearning and do hands on practice with tanks and dive planning.

Requirements

If you’re a PADI Open Water Diver, you can enroll in the Enriched Air Diver Specialty course.

Learning Objectives

You’ll learn why diving with air that has higher oxygen and lower nitrogen content gives you more bottom time, along with enriched air equipment considerations. During a practical session, you’ll:

  • Discuss managing oxygen exposure.
  • Practice analyzing oxygen content in your scuba tank.
  • Learn how to set up a dive computer for diving with enriched air nitrox.

Course Fee

The course fee of $145 includes all course materials (eLearning) and the use of all equipment needed for the class. You will also need to purchase a Hoofer Scuba club membership if you are not already a member. Sign up online here, or at the Hoofer Outdoor Programs office at the Memorial Union. Cancellation policy: once you recieve the code and begin the eLearning, we cannot give you a refund for this course. However, if you begin the eLearning process and cannot attend the classroom date at this time, you can complete the classroom portion at a later date.

Logistics

The classroom portion of this course will take place on February 12th, 2023 at Memorial Union from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
