Sylvania Wilderness Canoe Trip Placeholder!

Sign-up will open at 9:00 PM on Tuesday, September 20th. This is the Placeholder event for the trip, sign up here and we will email participants how to pay for the trip, and then we will move you into the official event! 

The Sylvania Wilderness Area is a protected wilderness area in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan! We will be canoeing, portaging, and enjoying peak fall colors throughout the area.  We will leave from Memorial Union on Friday evening and return to Memorial Union on Sunday afternoon/evening. 

A lake rating and swim test will be required to come on this trip, if you have any questions/concerns for receiving these ratings, please contact one of the trip leaders. 

The anticipated cost of this trip is $50 to cover the cost of food and gas. On Rechub, participants will pay $27 to cover group food payments, and venmo the leaders $23 to pay for gas. Bring money for food on the road for Friday and Sunday! 

We will have a pre-trip meeting TBD to go over packing and other trip logistics.

Shortly after you sign up, we will send out an email with important gear lists, and a form to collect more information from you.

Hoofers can provide you with all the essential gear to get you out there! We are anticipating cold weather for the trip, so we will double check that everyone will be warm enough will extra layers and warm sleeping bags!
