Join Outdoor UW for their new Outdoor Explorer Series. Learn and practice a new skill that will make you more comfortable and excited for your next adventure!
Intro to Camping & Trip Planning
This class will focus on everything else you need to know and do to prepare to put the new skills you are gaining into practice and plan a back-country camping trip. This class will briefly cover logistical considerations such as for organizing your trip such as: permitting, gear, food, self-care, first aid, emergency planning, etc.
Upon completion of this class, participants will:
- Have a better idea of the necessary things they need to be thinking about before planning their trip.
- Have an opportunity to examine the pieces of gear that they would need for a trip.
- Ask questions about trip planning and get ideas for where they can plan their next trip.

- If there is not adequate enrollment 48 hours prior to this course, it may be canceled. If the course is canceled by Outdoor UW, enrolled participants will receive an email notification and full refunds will be issued. Refunds will not be issued if participants cancel within 24 hours of the event.

- Please dress for the weather for any course that has an outdoor portion indicated in the description. All technical gear will be provided.
