Peabody Ice Climbing Trip

Looking to try ice and mixed climbing? Tired of classes after just three days? Love saunas? Join us in heading down to Fenton, Michigan for a weekend of ice and mxied climbing, saunas, food trucks, and festivities at the Peabody Ice Climbing facility! This trip is open to all experience levels and is a great way to get outside this winter.

Itinerary 

Friday: We'll leave from Memorial Union at noon and grab dinner on the road. After arriving in Fenton, we'll get in some illuminated late night ice climbing, sauna time, and card games! Finally, we'll turn in for some sleep in "the bunky", a bunkhouse at the facility!

Saturday: #AlpineStart for the Peabody Ice Festival! We'll dawn some superhero costumes, eat sum breaky, then prepare for a day of climbing, raffles, and games. Climbing ends at 6 to make way for food trucks and a celebration. Once again, prepare for cribbage in the bunky and LOTS of sauna time.

Sunday: We'll play it by ear, but will get in some morning climbing before hitting the road back to Madison. We will stop for lunch on the way home.

Cost

The cost of this trip will be determined based off of personal vehicle usage, but be prepared to pay up to $125. This includes $20 for lodging, $40 for climbing passes, and potentially as much as $65 for transportation. Beyond this, please bring money to get food on the road on Friday and Sunday. If you would like to eat from the food trucks on Saturday night, purchase any swag, or need to rent gear, bring extra cash to do so. The club has ice climbing gear available for checkout, however this is first come first serve. You will have to pay to rent gear if you can't check it out from the club.
