Depending on if we have enough cars in that first 5, we might have to use the 5th person's spot for someone with a car. Keep in mind, if you aren't able to leave early enough on Friday, you might not be able to come on this trip.

We are going backpacking to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore (PRNL)!

Hello everyone!
We are doing a Fall Colors backpacking trip in the beautiful shores of Lake Superior to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore! A true midwestern gem. 

Leah and Evan are leading a crew of Hoofers a backpacking/camping trip the weekend of Fri. Oct 18 through Sun. Oct 20. Hopin’ to see some great fall colors!

This is a BP2 (intro) level trip with the Hoofer Outing Club.

***You do not need any prior backpacking ratings or experience to sign up for this trip!

Keep in mind, if you want to go on a big BP4 Spring Break trip in 2020, you first need to go on one BP2 trip regardless of skill level or prior experience.

We have room for 5 participants (not including leaders), but we might open it to more if we get more leaders/cars!

Basic Itinerary (Total hiking distance ~14 miles):

Friday 10/18: Leave from Memorial Union around 2-3 PM and drive to PRNL, stopping for dinner at a restaurant on the way. Arrive at Little Beaver Lake trailhead. Shuttle a car to the end point of the trip. Hike 1.5 miles to Coves campsite for the night. Arrive at camp around 11 PM.

Saturday 10/19: Leave Coves campsite and hike ~8 miles to next campsite for the night (Mosquito River Campsite).

Sunday 10/20: Wake up early, hike ~4 miles to Miners Beach parking lot trailhead. Go get other car from the start of trip. Leave for Memorial Union, stopping for lunch on the way and arriving around 4-5 PM.
