canoe lake lesson

This canoe lesson, distinct from our kayak lesson, teaches you how to work as a team to make a tandem canoe go where you want to go, and gives you the canoe lake rating needed to go on outing club quietwater canoe trips or to use club canoes to paddle and explore awesome Lake Mendota when the lake is open for boating. Stash all stuff that doen not have to go in the boat in one of the lockers in the corridor. The Swim test is not required to take this lesson, but is required to take boats out afterwards, so if you have taken it yet, watch for opportunities to take the swim test from the lifeguards. Meet at the Memorial Union waterfront by Hoofer canoes in the boathouse. Experienced canoers who want to work on teaching canoe lessons are VERY welcome to come assist (and simultaneously take the lesson if you need the canoe rating).
