Event Information

Description

Let's go paddle a river! For anyone who has completed the lake lesson and swim test, I would like to paddle a gentle moving-water river.

It sounds like many people have the whole afternoon, so we will meet at the Memorial Union boathouse at 1:00PM to load gear into cars at Park Street Circle (the north end of Park Street). We will choose a southern Wisconsin river based on water levels. Plan for a drive of up to two hours or so. Non-drivers should bring $5 to pay to drivers to cover gas costs.

IDEAS:

Turtle Creek, either "O’Riley Road landing to Sweet-Allyn Park" or "Sweet-Allyn Park to Dickop Street": https://www.milespaddled.com/2016/04/turtle-creek-paddle-guide/  It looks like the levels are too high for this one.

Little Platte River https://www.milespaddled.com/2017/08/little-platte-river/  Levels may be too low on this one.

We will likely choose instead the Badfish, Baraboo, or Black Earth Creek.
