Event Information

Description

Join us for our Take a Stake in Our Waters dive series to help keep our lakes clean. During this event, you'll be on a mission: to find junk and get it off the bottom of our lakes. You never know whether you'll find a rare artifact or anchor!

With the Tenney Lock closed, this is a unique opportunity to dive the Yahara River between Lakes Mendota and Monona. Normally there's too much boat traffic to think about divingĀ it. That means lots and lots of treasure.

Costs for this event are as follows:

  • Renting gear or a tank of air will only be $10. (This is half the normal rental cost for gear and air. It's our way of saying Thank You for helping to keep the lakes clean.)
  • Rent gear for 3 of the dives in this Local Lakes Cleanup series and get the fourth free!

Gear checkout will be Friday evening, May 19 from 6-7PM at the dive locker at the Memorial Union. (This is the same checkout as the Saturday event.) We'll meet Sunday morning at the Memorial Union and drive the short distance to the dive site.

To pay for gear, sign up for this event. It will let you pay with a credit card ahead of time.
