Event Information

Description

The legends were passed down for generations, of an ancient, mystical race of dirtbags who crafted ambrosia from naught but the most basic of elements: fire, steel, and groceries available at Woodman's. These culinary demigods created sumptuous backcountry feasts the likes of which the world has not seen since. They were...the Aluminum Chefs.

Join me as we discover the ancient secrets of the Aluminum Chefs, including "how to not blow up a Whisperlite" and "make something other than oatmeal for breakfast."

This is the first leson in a series design to help people learn to cook in a backcountry environment, and is open to beginners and experts alike. If you are just starting out, you will learn how to use the club's stoves, and if you have more trips under your belt, you'll have the opportunity to try new recipes before committing to carry them out in the wilderness.

Since this is the first event of the series, the theme will be breakfast. Menu details will folllow.

I need leader assistance for this trip. If you would like to help lead, either by helping with groceries, or during instruction, please let me know. More participant spots will be opened as leaders sign up.

If you plan on attending, please sign up so we have an accurate idea of how much food to get.

Meeting in the Hoofer Lounge immediately after the HOC meeting.
