Delta Lodge Cross-Country Skiing 2018

WINTER IS COMING… Which means it's time for the annual Delta Lodge cross-country ski trip!

WHO: You! 28 Hoofers in 3 cabins. Cross-Country skiers of all levels are welcome, and we have gear for you to use.

WHY: Because skiing! Nuff said.

But actually, though, there will be prime cross-country skiing, perhaps snowshoeing, eating, sauna-ing, warming huts, a diner breakfast, a (potential) excursion across a frozen lake, and general gallivanting in the frozen north.

You want to enjoy a post-ski round of Catan? That's cool, we can do that. Do you want to bake us all cookies? Please do! Do you want to melt in the sauna and then roll around in the snow? You got it. It’ll be a grand old time.

WHEN: Thursday, January 11th, to Monday, January 15th. Delta Lodge cabin is up north about 6 hours. Cars will depart both in the morning and afternoon on Thursday. Some cars will probably also go up on Friday. We will head back to Madison around noon on MLK Monday and be back by early evening.

COST: $180 in advance, which includes most meals, all transportation, and lodging. Hoofers has cross-country ski gear that you can use free of charge.

- Additional costs: meals during the drive, Thursday night dinner at the bar, Delta Diner on Monday, trail passes ($5/day) (so bring cash). If there's money left after driver reimbursements and other costs, it will be refunded to you.

- The first deposit ($90) will be due at sign up

- The second deposit ($90) will be due by January 4th.

- Or you can just pay $180 in one go.

- Cash or check (to Jacob Ng) at meetings or Venmo or PayPal.

- The drop-out deadline for a FULL refund is December 28th. After that, you will only be able to get a full refund if someone takes your place on the trip.

12-15-2017: Update from the Hoofer office, for the sake of transaparency:
1. Drinking is not allowed on this trip. There are specific circumstance under which alcohol is permitted on official Hoofers trips. However, because we will be skiing and driving, and there are under-age participants, this trip does not meet those conditions. Don't worry, we'll still have a great time. 
2. The use of Venmo, PayPal, cash, and check are discouraged as a means of collecting and managing trip funds, because there is a lack of security and accountability. As such, Hoofers will not be held financially responsible if a trip uses these methods to collect money. The office recommends having all trip payments go through the Hoofer office. However, there is currently no convenient way for trip leaders to access these funds to pay for groceries, permits, gas, etc. So for now, payment will still be accepted through Venmo, PayPal, cash, or check. If you feel more comfortable having your payment go through the Hoofer office, talk to me and we can set that up.
