Event Information

Description

Weather forecast this Thursday calls for 45 degrees and sunny. So its time to go on a quite water kayak trip at lake Columbia near Poynette Wi. So some of use a taking a day off work. Lake Columbia is about 40 miles north of Madison and is a man made lake that is used as a cooling pond for a billion-watt coal-fired power plant on its N shore and is heated to 75F by waste heat from the plant. We will meet at the boat house near the hoofer lounge at 11 am. Load boats , hit the water around 1 pm and paddle for about 2 hours or so then return to Madison by 4:30 or so. kayakers will need a SK0 or better. Best to bring extra cloths just in case. Maybe a lunch or snack and water. I few $ for gas .
