Event Information

Description

[Comment: Due to weather, wind, & waves, only the SK0 portion was completed. Instruction, demonstration, and practice of wet exit and t-rescue were first led on land in the boathouse. Then participants were taken on the lake two at a time (with two leaders and one assistant) to practice paddling, wet exit, and t-rescue (as swimmer and as rescuer) in deep water about 75-100 yards directly North of the pier area.]

Thursday @ 4:30pm - Sea Kayak (SK0/SK1) Combo Lesson

Kayak Lake Lesson and Standard Swim Test Required (we can include the swim test if time permits).

(a) You need the sea kayak (SK0/SK1) lesson? This is for you!

(b) You already have sea kayak ratings and you want to help and develop as a teacher/leader? This is for you too! (The more of you that sign up, we can open this up for more to participate.)

Weather permitting, I'm planning to offer the Sea Kayak Lessons (SK0/SK1) as a means to help others develop as teachers and leaders.

What to Wear: Promptly at 4:30pm, please show up at the boathouse entrance already wearing appropriate paddling or swim wear that can get wet such as synthetic or wool or other clothing that can get wet (no cotton) and appropriate closed-toe shoes that can get wet (no bear feet and no flip flops) to protect your feet from sharp objects in the lake bed. Also, bring sunscreen, scacks to carry in the boat, a towel, and dry/warm change of clothes for afterwards.

Thank you!
