Shredding the Red: northern whitewater weekend

The trip plan for an Iowan adventure has changed---we're now set on heading to northeastern Wisconsin for a couple days of whitewater paddling. We will paddle the Red River and maybe the Wolf or something else---depends on water levels and skill levels of the group. There's a slight chance of the group splitting on the 2nd day with a Class 2 and Class 3 option.

We've got a campsite reserved at Boulder Lake, near Langlade and the Wolf River for two nights--Friday and Saturday. We're not 100% sure of camping Friday night or not; it's an option.

This trip will be geared towards instruction and leadership. I'm trying to get a good mix of emerging paddling leaders and paddlers who really want to work on their skills. To get this balance I need to control sign-up---meaning there will not be open sign-up on-line. If you are interested in the trip, you need to email me directly and I'll fill the trip accordingly. Some of the paddlers who had signed up for Iowa have priority.

While we will be camping, we're not likely to be doing much cooking---maybe easy breakfasts on your own. Also will bring your own lunch food. We'll probably eat dinner out. You will need a sleeping bag and pad---maybe a tent (to be worked out among the group).

I'd like to get leaders working on the WW2 rating---and paddlers with an R1 who have done more than a single trip to Sac, Baraboo or Badfish---paddlers who are really ready for Class 2 paddling and maybe have a roll--or are close to it.

I'm also going to keep this trip small. Target is 8 paddlers total. The plan is still fluid. Be prepared to be flexible.Costs will be gas, road food, and camping.
